Hi, I'm Alyssa. I'm a teaching artist based in NYC.

This is my personal studio where I create and teach ceramics.

I aim to offer a semi-private learning space for beginner potters and kids. My background is in art education and I write the class curriculum built on the foundation that humans are inherently creative. Long term classes are designed to engage creative thought processes and encourage the flow of imaginative ideas in everyday life. Students will practice generating ideas through guided research and keeping of a sketchbook. I aim to assist students in realizing their vision and in finding their creative voice.

Students will be provided with samples of three different clay bodies and emphasis is placed on decorative surface techniques that you can use to decorate your work other than one flat color glaze.

At a cap of 6 people class sizes are small and offer the opportunity for plenty of one on one instruction and attention.

Due to the small size of my space (400 sq. ft) this is strictly a learning studio with limited classes and I cannot offer memberships at this time.
